Current Project Update – Week of December 1, 2008

Kapiolani Boulevard between Ward Avenue and Kalakaua Avenue

• Modified contraflow lanes during the morning and afternoon rush hour continues.
• Expect temporary lane closures.
• Construction crews will be working both day and night shifts. 

  Night crews: Sunday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  Day crews: Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kapiolani Boulevard between Keeaumoku Street and Atkinson Drive

• Crews are continuing repaving work on Kapiolani Boulevard.
• Expect temporary lane closures.
• Construction crews will be working both day and night shifts:

  Night crews: Sunday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  Day crews: Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kalakaua Avenue between Makaloa Street and the Ala Wai Canal Bridge.

• Crews are installing the new sewer system along Kalakaua Avenue.  Work includes soil stabilization, microtunneling, open trench excavation, installation of new pipes, trench restoration, and probing of existing utilities.
• Expect temporary lane closures.
• Construction crews will be working both day and night shifts:

Night crews: Sunday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Day crews: Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

To expedite the project, construction activity is allowed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
